My word of the day.
internetedness, n. ~ The quality of being meaningfully affected by lives, knowledge, thoughts, actions of human beings who you never have met and never will meet in person, whose names, locations, ages or even genders you may not know, and you exist in parallel as separate people at different points on the globe, and are virtual to each other. It is no longer a relationship of individuals to individuals, constant and particular people in your life with dates of birth, height and eye-color, but rather a perpetual giving to and taking from the common mind, the us, where concrete persons are simply stand-ins for universal human qualities, an ever replenishing flow of ourselves.
