Residual meming

Let's have a word for this thing that I keep observing. This phenomenon when someone has an insight into something basically human and tries to speak about it. If the meme is successful, other people who have not had the insight attach themselves to the words and it becomes a sacred doctrine, a method, a system, a known and generally accepted concept, gets a name and a life of its own. Is referred to when judging truth and correctness of thinking and actions. Then people within that (by now) structure inevitably begin to develop some of their own insights - simply by virtue of being humans on Earth having experiences and being equipped with their own apparatus equally capable of learning and self-knowledge as the first person who came up with what is now doctrine. Yet it does not occur to them to drop the doctrine but instead they try to modify it and reinterpret what it "really" means. If they continue to have their own insights this becomes so twisted and convoluted that they are eventually forced to either give up their own authority or abandon the doctrine. I wonder if anyone has come up with a term yet for that period when you are still trying to make the system work and trying to compare and validate your experience inside of someone else's existing structure. Still believing with some part of your being that "the truth is out there".
